MD-PhD Student Receives NIH Grant

Current Tri-Institutional MD-PhD student, Maria Passarelli, has been awarded an F30 Fellowship from the National Institutes of Health's National Cancer Institute

The grant will support Ms. Passarelli's research focused on characterizing the role of novel noncoding RNA elements in suppressing breast cancer metastasis; specifically the role of transfer RNAs (tRNAs) in the metastic cascade. Maria, a fifth year MD-PhD student, is conducting her research in the Tavazoie Lab at The Rockefeller University.
