Tri-I Association for Women in Science and Medicine (Tri-I AWSM)

The Association of Diverse Physician-Scientists in Training (ADePT)
Begun in 2019, the Association of Diverse Physician-scientists in Training (ADePT) is an organization within the MD-PhD Program for students from backgrounds traditionally underrepresented in science and medicine, as well as their allies, with the goal of encouraging and facilitating community-building, advocacy, and mentorship.
Queer Initiative for Physician Scientists (QUIPS)
The Queer Initiative for Physician Scientists (QUIPS) is a student-led and student-run group that seeks to build community, mentorship and advocacy for LGBTQ+ physician scientists and their allies across Weill Cornell Medicine, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and The Rockefeller University. The organization serves to promote inclusivity for LGBTQ+ communities across the Tri-Institutional programs by fostering an open and safe environment for queer physician scientists and their allies to connect, grow, and speak openly about their own identities in medicine and science.
QUIPS also acts as a hub to connect with the many other LGBTQ+ groups and organizations within and around the Tri-Institutional community. Learn more here.
Local Chapter of American Physician Scientists Association
The Tri-I MD-PhD maintains an active local chapter of the American Physician Scientists Association (APSA).
APSA is a national organization dedicated to addressing the needs of future physician-scientists with respect to their training and career development. Founded in 2003, APSA held its first Annual Meeting in 2005 and has grown tremendously in the ensuing years.
The mission of APSA is to be a voice for physician-scientist trainees at all levels. APSA aims to help physician-scientist trainees realize their educational and professional goals in an organization free from harassment or discrimination based on gender, orientation, race, ethnicity, or religion.
Every year, our local chapter sends students to the Joint AAP/ASCI/APSA.
