As we announced last year, the Tri-Institutional MD-PhD Program founded a "House System." This MD-PhD student-led initiative has the goal of fostering mentorship and community within and across the Program.
To support connections between students across all years, each MD-PhD student is assigned to one of the five Houses (named for scientists Rosalind Franklin, Santiago Ramon y Cajal, Marie Curie, Mae Jemison, and Archimedes), each of which also has alumni and faculty advisors.
In just the first few months since the launch of the Houses, there have been numerous events and social activities, including an inter-House competition at last year's MD-PhD Student and Alumni Retreat (see pictures below).
The House system is off to a tremendous start and we are looking forward to seeing what else the students put together next.
