Applications are accepted from US citizents or permanent residents who are college freshmen or sophomores and will be at least 18 years of age by the start of the program.

Gateways is open to all; applicants from backgrounds underrepresented in medicine and science, including individuals from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups, low socioeconomic backgrounds, and those with disabilities, are encouraged to apply.

Applicants should have a commitment to exploring the physician-scientist pathway. Individuals who know they want to pursue an MD-only or PhD-only degree should not apply to Gateways.
