Jonathan Abraham, M.D., Ph.D., awarded the NIH Director's Early Independence Award

Gateways alumnus Jonathan Abraham, M.D., Ph.D., has been recently awarded the NIH Director's Early Independence Award for his project Antibody Therapeutics for Human Viral Hemorrhagic Fevers and Prevention of Late Neurological Syndromes. Created by the NIH Common Fund, the NIH Director's Early Independence Award provides up to $250,000 per year for five years and presents an opportunity for talented junior scientists to quickly advance into independent research positions at U.S. institutions.

After completing the Gateways program in 2002, Jonathan received a BA from Harvard College and his MD and PhD degrees from the Harvard-MIT combined MD-PhD Program. He is currently an Instructor in Biological Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at Harvard Medical School and a Clinical Research Fellow in Infectious Diseases at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital.
