Agata Smogorzewska, MD, PhD (class of 2003) and current faculty member at The Rockefeller University is a new member of the Journal of Biological Chemistry Editorial Board.
Dr. Smogorzewska received her M.D. at Weill Cornell Medicine and her Ph.D. at The Rockefeller University as part of the Tri-Institutional MD-PhD Program. She completed her clinical residency and postdoctoral training at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Smogorzewska is the head of the Laboratory of Genome Maintenance, whose research aims are to use Fanconi anemia and other genetic disease to elucidate pathways that prevent stem cell dysfunction and cancer development, with a focus on DNA repair.
